My chicken are about ready to hatch her 12 eggs in 2 days. I know the temp is suppose to be 95 degrees for baby chicken but what if they are with mother? Is thier a difference? Do I put a heat lamp up? We did seperate the mother and eggs from the other chickens. Husband thought it would be a good idea. They are in a metal dog cage in an unheated gradge. Mother is sitting on nest with hay in the nest on her eggs. The whole nest is covered with hay. They are protected from the elements of weather change. I need help fast if I need to do diffrent to get ready for baby chicks

Mom hen will take care of everything. Make sure the chicks can't fall out of the sides or gate of the dog crate. If there are slots then you block sides with cardboard. Provide clean hay, chick starter and a waterer for them and they'll be fine.
