Mating and fertile eggs?

Hi!
So I've got 3 female and one (new) male quail. They were all in the same pen together for about a week and now my male is pecking on my girls!! It started with just the one, we took her out, let her rest, I'm putting Neosporin on her head. Now he started pecking on one of the other females.

So now we've got him separated, but we want fertile eggs. How often do they need to mate to continue getting fertile eggs?

try rubbing apple cider vinegar on their back with a rag or cloth. it keeps the roo away for a bit. do you have pictures? are they bleeding?

I currently don't have pictures. I'll be sure to get some. Was scabbing, I have a picture of that.

My girls were no where near stressed when I first added him and we're perfectly fine with him until the pecking started yesterday. Yesterday was the first time one of my girls didn't lay an egg. Took her out, Neosporin on her head, in a dim place. Today, she laid an egg buy my other girl is getting pecked and now she didn't lay today. So now we've separated them.

I don't think they will be stressed if we put them together long enough to just mate. I just don't know how often I should do that.
