In my relatively small flock we have two roosters who are brothers and have been hand raised (with their sister who they circled but a hawk got her one day) and are essentially stuck at the hip. While they will go separate ways for a small time they often follow each other and are almost never seen apart. But the pair are over mating the hens aggressively. I have had to rip the rooster from the hen because they occasionally tag team. But in general they are very very sweet roosters and love a good cuddle (as do most of my chickens). I have told my parents about separating them in the coop but my mother is kind of opposed to the idea because they are a flock, while my father claims that separation is how you get a mean rooster. My one rooster Biscuit has mostly backed off from mating I only see him do it on rare occasions now... but it is Spooky who will run after the hens. My father is not really wanting more hens. And appears a little joyous is one goes missing. (We have 3 who sleep in the trees and always go back to the trees no matter what we do)
My poor chicken rose is bare on her back as well as under her wings. Would really love some help here...
