mating ratio

Nobody has to listen to anything I say. I said I am not a rookie. I do ask questions for what ever reason. I didn't say I know everything or pretend to be the expert here. I will always remain teachable. I don't produce eggs for E-bay. I have no desire to either. I just say what I do and why. I am not looking for anyone to be my twin or fan club. . Like I said before. I have different goals than mass producing eggs. My goals are about quality. Is it wrong with me not wanting my hens gang raped and injured. The original question was how many hens would be max for a tom. If you re read my statement from page one, here I passed on that information from the ALBC website that was posted to me when I asked the question.

I think there's just some reasonable doubt as to the veracity of your statements, that's all.

I am lost. What is the is the statement you are having problems with?

Moveifanz -- I don't think anyone wants a resume. I think there's just some reasonable doubt as to the veracity of your statements, that's all. In this thread, for instance, you talk about your breeding pens like they're a long standing part of your operations, you have established protocols, etc but just as recently as last autumn you were asking very simple breeding questions like how many hens can be serviced by one tom. There may be an explanation for what seems, on this side of the screen, to be some inconsistencies, but if you're unwilling to set that straight... It makes sense that people might be skeptical. KWIM?

I agree 100%. For the life of me I don't understand why this topic does this. On the peafowl, geese, ducks, quail, pheasants topics this never happens. People share info and pictures and learn. Time and time again as i'm sure the mods know people seem to like to disrupt on this topic? They don't post anywhere else just here? I don't get it. I'm glad there are finally other members speaking out. Just my 2 cents.

MODERATOR WARNING #1

Ok, after several reports about this thread, I'm stepping in. I, too, am perplexed at the contention that these turkey threads bring out. I'm asking for the hostility and the sniping be dialed back a few notches. Let's discuss, not spar, please.

What part of Alabama are you in? How much are you asking for him? I am looking for another Bourbon Red tom. Also, would you be interested in trading a pair of Eastern Wilds for a pair of Blue Slates? I am in Walker county. Thanks!
