MAY 2016 "Land of the Free Because of the brave!" Hatch-a-Long Hosted by, Mike & Sally

I hope so too!  Good luck with them!!

Thanks!! They seem better today so hopefully it's nothing. The weird thing though is I first noticed the weird voice maybe a week or two ago yet none of them act sick at all. Maybe it's just a unique vocalization or they could be thirsty or something?

odd, hopefully kat will help and tell you what to look for, have you looked deep down some throats ?

Yeah, it's definitely odd. And initially it sounded like it was coming from just one but now maybe either still one or maybe two now. When I first heard it I thought it was a wild bird then I realized it was them. It was almost like a squeaky toy or something. Then last night locking them up one made a really strange noise, almost like coughing but I can't remember if it was or not cause it was also this weird squeaky coo thing. I opened the door to see what the matter was but by then it stopped. I have not looked down their throats yet. Never even thought of that to be honest and I don't know if I can hold them still that long but I will try. That is a good idea. And they don't seem to eat much grit and now it is out or at least the pan is dirty so that could be it. Just bought some more though. I never even thought to look down their throats

Chipping away at my huge homework project that is due on Monday. This has been a 3 year assignment and it is crazy huge, so this weekend is major buckle down and finish time. Luckily I have my little silkie who has been unzipping for the last 5 hours keeping me company.

She is right next to my chair, and I can't wait for her to come out.

I tell you, there is going to be one huge scream of celebration at my house when this assignment is finally wrapped up! I can't wait!

Then, look out chickens, Momma's gonna have a little more free time! Yippee!!!! Ok, back to work!

Oh and this is the chipped beak. These pictures are from Tuesday and are horrible because she wouldn't hold still and wanted to get away so apologies. Probably should have cleaned it then but I noticed she was eating fine so I kind of forgot about it/didn't realize it was so long ago already, time flies. But I bought some Vetericyn and will clean it today and spray that on if necessary.
