That makes sense!! Thanks! I hope Jack figures it out lol it helps the older girls beat the stuffing out of him when he’s rudeThey are a year old. It doesn’t change after a year. They will stay that way in my experience if they’re that old and still doing it.

This is what I do, except I only do mutts and start at four bucks. I'd sell Maran chicks for 7 or 8.Marans eggs (any variety) seem to be a hot item on ebay, so would think the chicks would be as well. I was going to try $3.00 for day old barnyard chicks and $4.00 for day old special breed chicks and then add $1.00 to the cost every week.....but I haven't sold many chicks.
Noah, is that you?!??!??I’m keeping some for myself. I am trying to keep two of each breed. Then I’ll start working on the quail.
So today has been up and down I had 1 complete zipper quit on me, and another come out, then quit, and another with wry neck that I’m nursing now. Iv had 10 others break out. And still waiting on some more. My neighbors eggs are the ones giving us trouble, she just had a wry neck the other day hatch under her broody as well. I’m guessing it’s a health thing with her hens?
Also my other batch is weird too. I have never been so questionable about a hatch before, has anyone else had juat an over all not great feeling about a hatch, and also just had poor hatches? This is my first time with this many issues
Fingers crossed for a better hatch this time!I just had 2 hatches that I had a not so great feeling about and am about ready to hatch my 3rd batch that I don't feel the greatest about. My first was a batch of Delawares off ebay. They weren't the best packed and I ended up with a lot of clears and when I looked back at the pictures I noticed the rooster had curly toes, so unsure about the health of the flock. I ended up with 2 chicks. The 2nd was a batch of d'Uccles. The eggs were kind of dirty when they arrived and the air cells were a bit messed up. I ended up with 2 out of that batch too. I am about ready to hatch my OE's....they got stuck at the original post office for 3 days before shipping so were a week old when I got them....I am down to 3.
I am having what may be one of those hatched right now. Eggs didn’t travel far but got lost for two days between NJ and central NY so I didn’t get them until day 8. The air cells looked pretty toasted on most. But I set got 5 that made it to lockdown, one went DIS right after leaving me with four and of those four only one has a decent air cell. But when I candled tonight there was still movement so fingers crossed.I just had 2 hatches that I had a not so great feeling about and am about ready to hatch my 3rd batch that I don't feel the greatest about.
