I candled last night. Not really much left to see at this point, with the shells being so full. I'm going to pop out today for chick crumble, work on getting my brooder set back up and prepare for LOCKDOWN tomorrow afternoon. Hurray!

last year I had 6 eggs and 3 hatched and one died it was shrink wrapped. This year I have 12 eggs and hoping all of them hatch and none die. I told my friend to add more water this year the last 3 days of Incubating/ hatching and to call me if anything goes wrong with the hatch.

Ummm... I hope none explode because they will after being in heat for do long. Any reason why they won't candle?

I asked my friend to candle on May 1st. My friend has never candled eggs before so I sent my friend a candling guide via facebook messenger and hoping my friend will candle them and give me the results of the candling the eggs.

Yeah they should candle at least once between days 7-10 then on day 14 then on day 18. They're looking for movement and veins. If they're clear then they're clears, which means they need to be removed. After day 18 eggs are in lockdown and you do not really want to mess with them especially if they've never done eggs before.
