ok, so I am on day 19 trying to get this humidity perfect.... there are two plugs.... if I unplug one hole I get 74% humidity- if I unplug both holes I get 68% humidity. which is better? I have 42 eggs, majority are Marans.(if that matters).

You don't want to plug any holes either when they are about to hatch because you won't get sufficient air exchange and they can suffocate.

ok well I think I have 2 more days before anyone hatches so I will keep both holes uncovered and leave it at 68-67% humidity. thanks

I threw away both plugs on mine because air exchange is key to a good hatch

Pretty Indian runner eggs have arrived! All appear to be in one piece, I’ll know more once I candle to check air cells and such now I definitely wish I went with a bigger incubator though... it only fits the 6 duck eggs. Lol

Today, my broody Moonshine was taking her break off the nest, Day 7 for her eggs, so I quickly candled her 6 eggs. One of the big ones, (Spitzhauben) had quit. I removed it, and quickly got the two Day 7 eggs from the incubator. (they are bantam) I had added those two to incubator on the day Moonshine began hers, for just in case. So now she has 7 eggs, 6 are bantam (her own) and 1 Spitzhauben.
All the remaining eggs in incubator are on Day 15, so I was glad to get the late ones out before lockdown Saturday. Incubator has 4 Spitzhauben and 5 bantam, all looking good.
(All the bantam eggs are Spitzhauben Sebright cross, so I call them Sprights. )

First time incubator mom. I've got a pair of Ayam Cemani chickens that I'd call "pet quality". Set 7 eggs in my new incubator on 4/18. I've candled a couple of times at 7 and 10 days, but not seeing much. I'm not giving up yet, but not very hopeful either.

Spright sounds like little cute fairies

I'm hoping some of them make it, I think they'll be adorable. I love both breeds. These babies will be my 'designer' chickens.....
