I thought about that. I'll be honest though, I don't really name my birds. BokBok only got named because he yells that at me when he thinks I'm encroaching on his patrols. I did try to name the very first hens I ever had, but it didn't stick because I couldn't usually tell them apart (RIR and Barred Rocks) 😂

Not all of mine are named, most but not all. I only have 1-2 of each breed and the only ones I have more of are my EE's which all look completely different. I cannot tell the difference between my 2 buckeyes so they are not named and 2 of the EE's are not. Everyone else is though. My kids have named most of them and they just stuck. My daughter has already named the Bielefelder cockerel that we hatched "Larry"....he is only 2 weeks old.

My chickens only pay me any mind when I bring the kitchen scrap bowl or refill the waterers. It makes me feel a bit servant-like. However, the turkey poult will follow me around and chatter away. It's nice to have someone to talk to!
They treat me like that too, except when I adopt my mother hen mode. I squat down over a small pile of food for the littles (who come to me) and squak at anything else that comes near them (the littles are eight weeks old and apparently spoiled).

Talking turkey, I absolutely love my turkeys. Mine are just like yours. :D

Does anyone have tips on bullying? Got a lot of pecking going on with the babies.

Do you have them under a lamp in the brooder? If so, what color light are you using? Have they pecked any spots bare on any of the chicks? I have had more luck with red lights than I have white light when it come to chicks pecking at each other. I still get some, but it is definitely more curiosity pecking than bullying.

I'm actually shocked that I have never had any integrating issues, maybe it's just my flock 🤷🏼‍♀️ they always accept the youngins.

My bantam rooster is crowing 😂 it's hilarious. I'm shocked I can get away with 3 roosters and 7 hens. My flock is just weird.
I'm sure the issue was caused (or started) by the Golden Comets, then the Barred Rocks joined in. They all pick on the new White Rocks, which in turn now pick on the littles (mutts). I will end this cycle, somehow.

It's okay I love the meme 😂

My friend told me today that everyone is scared of becoming a cat lady and here I am killing it being a chicken lady 😂😂😂

I'd honestly rather spend a day with my chickens than go to company parties or anything else. They're peaceful and so gorgeous.

I totally agree. I could spend hours out with my chickens. They don't really like me to pick them up or touch them, but they do like to follow me around and talk to me. The best is when I take out scraps from the kitchen. They come running to the fence as soon as they see me with "the treat container".

Ours just get referred to as the runty one, the penguin one, the black eyed one, etc.

I asked my 3.5 year old what one of the chicks name was yesterday. Her answer? Little black chick. 😂 Not very helpful.
