I saw you found my thread, so I won't post all the details again here.

I did. It's something similar to what my grandmother would do when anyone was pregnant lol

Set some CCL eggs two days ago and I cant wait to see them hatch...

Also have some barnyard mixes; SFH x BR, SFH x RIR, and SFH x BO in my still air incubator. candled them yesterday and have some development in them. They are about 7-8 days in and this incubator not been the most reliable for hatching. I also have eggs in my third incubator that I got from my BIL, Phoenix bantams and Silver Sebrights, along with some polish. Got all my fingers and toes crossed, which makes this extremely hard to type(LOL)...

Hatch update: most of the chicks hatched yesterday, right on time on day 21! It was a lovely Mother’s Day present! I left them in the bator until this morning then. There was one more BCM still zipping and the BCM in general were a bit behind the OEs... I did a very quick candle of remaining eggs: 1 OE and 2 BCM. The OE was a late quitter. So, out of 13 OE, we had 11 hatch, with one early and one late quitter! I absolutely adore the OE babies with their fat little cheeks, and 1/2 are blue. I love blue birds!!! They are all so cute and cuddly! So far, we are doing a horrible job of viewing these chicks as “food” rather than as pets...

Of the BCM, 9 were set, and 5 have hatched. I just don’t seem to have very good luck hatching BCM, whether they are shipped or bred by us. What gives??? If there are no pips, I’ll open from the aircell tonight and see if they are alive or try to figure out what went wrong...

Finally went outside and did chores. My 4 week old chicks are doing good - on the opposite side of the chick pen from the heat plate, not terribly huddled together but pretty close together. Temp was definitely warmer in the chicken coop than outside, so they should be fine. It is cold outside though!! It wouldn't be so bad except we have a pretty good sustaining wind around 10-15 mph from the northwest. That is what is making it cold.

I need some help. I have something I have never seen before happening in my bator.

I have a foot coming out of my pip instead of a bill. What do I do with this? Should I do something for it.
Never had a foot out of pip or hole unless it was almost zipped.

One of mine did that on Saturday. She made it out fine.

I had to assist the second Peachick the rest of the way out of the egg. The membrane appears to have stuck to its wing which stopped the turning. There was more bleeding from the navel than I'm accustomed to seeing but seems to be ok. I'm not thrilled with how the legs and feet are looking on either of these peachicks either. They're prone to leg problems but I'm going to wait until tomorrow morning before deciding how to help them. Hoping they work it out since they're newly hatched. This was a very stressful hatch and incubation!!! Yikes! Will hopefully have some cute pictures to share tomorrow.

Mrs. Kelsey, how cold is it in Nebraska today?

Right now in the SW Corner of Nebraska it is 37 degrees F but feels like 26 degrees with the 22 mph wind from the Northwest and a chance of rain this afternoon. Only a high of 41 today according to the weather on my phone. I am so over winter type weather! Should be better by Wednesday though (back to the 70s).

I borrowed the eggs under my broody to candle - days 7, 6, and 5. All are showing development and most showed movement. Mama's being a very attentive broody, but I've got the incubator as a backup. I may pull them from her on day 19 to hatch in a more controlled environment. I can slip the babies under her while I'm watching to make sure that no one is aggressive towards the young ones.
