Hatch update: most of the chicks hatched yesterday, right on time on day 21! It was a lovely Mother’s Day present! I left them in the bator until this morning then. There was one more BCM still zipping and the BCM in general were a bit behind the OEs... I did a very quick candle of remaining eggs: 1 OE and 2 BCM. The OE was a late quitter. So, out of 13 OE, we had 11 hatch, with one early and one late quitter! I absolutely adore the OE babies with their fat little cheeks, and 1/2 are blue. I love blue birds!!!They are all so cute and cuddly! So far, we are doing a horrible job of viewing these chicks as “food” rather than as pets...
Of the BCM, 9 were set, and 5 have hatched. I just don’t seem to have very good luck hatching BCM, whether they are shipped or bred by us. What gives??? If there are no pips, I’ll open from the aircell tonight and see if they are alive or try to figure out what went wrong...![]()
One of mine did that on Saturday. She made it out fine.I need some help. I have something I have never seen before happening in my bator.

I have a foot coming out of my pip instead of a bill. What do I do with this? Should I do something for it.
Never had a foot out of pip or hole unless it was almost zipped.
