I hatched for the first time this past fall and now I can’t wait to hatch again!!! Unfortunately, my rooster has other ideas and refuses to mate! Or crow.

I’m okay with the not crowing part lol

And he actually is mating one girl... his girlfriend who he was raised with... the one girl he is not scared of.

I should have hatched Red’s eggs before he passed away like I wanted to LOL he was making fertile eggs at like 4 or 4 1/2 months old.

Would have been perfect too because one of my older Easter Eggers who I really wanted to hatch from is now recently deceased too.

Oh well I guess. Live and learn lol

Now, if only Jack would stop being such a wimp!!!

Take a Skillet out and chat with Jack. It worked with Leeroy. "Leeroy, I like that you are afraid of me; I did eat your competition. Now get off your butt and mount up Son.". He does now, when I am not looking.

Hi, my name is Krista and I wake up some mornings with eggs I don’t remember putting in the bator. Sometimes I catch myself replying to local ads for hatching eggs and delete the draft before I send it.

Hi, My name is Kelsey. I have an ebay hatching egg auction addiction. My need for 3 more breeds of laying hens has grown to about 8. My kids are enabling me by "needing" new breeds of chickens to show for 4-H. All these hatching eggs has now led to plans to build a new larger coop and run so I can use my old coop and run for my chicks. Today I offered to incubate my neighbors eggs for her as she is having trouble with a broody. So, I pretty well have hatches planned into July....I started in April.

I could never eat Jack!!! He’s such a sweet and gentle boy! And gorgeous to boot lol though I’d gladly eat his “brothers” I used to have.

Jack is MASSIVE though so he would probably have some pretty huge drumsticks....

But he’s too pretty to eat.

I have threatened my hens before when they stopped laying and it worked. so maybe I’ll try with Jack too!! Though maybe say the idea wasn’t mine.

I had to buy another incubator to incubate my friends duck eggs one incubator has been running straight for 6 months.
