May 2020 Hatch-A-Long

These little guys are trying so hard to live. The toes will be dealt with tomorrow, just trying to get them well first.

Internal pips going on with the chimkens. There were 6 in this batch hatching, I forgot the Gold Spitzhauben :p

A Deathlayer photo from today just because for @FortCluck

No external pips yet, why must duckaluks be so slow to hatch! :barnie
I have internally pipped ducks but nothing external yet. I’m not keeping these. They will be going to their owner as soon as they hatch. No ducks will live here besides my Coco the chocolate Muscovy. We are a 1 duck family.

Well, my final count as of this morning is 5 hatched, 1 DIS, and 3 early quitters. Here’s a picture of this morning’s wake up call for the hatchlings.

One of them has a problem with its right leg - it’s the one lying sideways in the photo. I don’t think it’s spraddle leg. I put that one back in the incubator so the others don’t trample it while I’m at work today. I’ll reevaluate when I get home. Everyone got their beaks dipped in the water; I expect they’ll start exploring and eating a bit tonight.

Great pictures of the little feathered family!

Definitely try a multivitamin with b2 in it for the turkeys. I've never seen this with turkeys but I know with chickens the curled toes can be due to a vitamin deficiency in the breeding flock, specifically riboflavin.

The one laying down... put it in a cup for a few hours. Probably needs some physical therapy.
