Good deal. For crosses I wouldn't cross crosses. Keep your pure broodstock and keep doing F1 crosses. Keeping the F1 vigor and crosses of crosses are hardly ever as good as pure crosses

I’m only on my purebreds crossing and keeping one if that of the ones I like from crossing. Not many make it through that screening... no joke. I’m tough with a good eye.

This one from the instant it hatched, I loved it. It’s only half feathered, but that half plus it’s down color or drop dead gorgeous. This isn’t even my cross, it’s my friends. He has golden comet hens and silver Deathlayer roosters. This is their offspring. (Picture below)

Remember Squatch my BJG. He’s gone. He was gorgeous, but he lost his lady charm. The girls started being scared of him.

Dio is gone as well the Deathlayer we had. He was becoming aggressive with mating. That doesn’t fly in my coop... NEXT

I now have a bantam Brahma who is a jerk... so I need to decide to keep him or sell him. He’s gorgeous and young, but he’s a jerk. No human aggression though.

I have 4 cockerels we are offing this weekend. I’m butchering and cleaning the carcass. They’re going to be dinner. I have some Cornish I want to do as a small size, they are 4 weeks. Remind me to never get Cornish again... nasty

I am okay with it, I have ac mixes like that- Oh too funny, a new hatched chick is getting roudy- tried hopping on my comp- and
pecking my eye.

I like my crosses, but I am not trying to sell pures. I like surprises.

These are the first two to get all fluffed you any idea what they might be? The first chick hatched from an olive green egg and the second from an almost pink one

The last three eggs with no pips at all are all dark brown *sigh* one looks infertile but I’m not ready to give up until everyone else is done, one has the air cell on the side and I don’t see movement but I thought I heard tapping, the last one I’m pretty sure I saw internal pip and some movement. I think at least one maybe two may still be in the runnings

Sexed pullets sell for about 15-20 here. You can always ask for more and have some haggle room!
