11 king (button) quails just went into my little incubator

I ended up doing a staggered set. It's the end of our season and I decided to run in a new incubator with a small number of eggs from one of my young hens laying for the first time. Since everyone else has finished laying I figured I'd get half a dozen eggs and then she'd finish too - but she's kept laying - one a day - so I've set them in groups every 5 days

First set went into lockdown this afternoon. I set 6 and have 4 to hatch (one infertile and one very early quitter).

It look's like I will have the second batch (2 dozen) of chicken egg's that should be here in the morning to incubate also.

Hey guys! I'm late to the party but only found this page a couple days ago. I set my eggs a couple weeks ago and they have a due date of 3rd May!
I'm using a Brinsea Maxi II Eco with a semi auto Turner. Started off with 14 eggs from our CL cockerel and hybrid hens, had 1 yolker, 3 quitters so now in lockdown with 10 healthy, wiggling eggs. I haven't candled since day 16 (we went in to lockdown early as that's when they started moving around).

I prefer the broody, what about you? So far of course. You don’t know yet what is to come.

Definitely the broody... I had 6 out of 6 hatch last year under her, this time its nerve-wracking in the incubator! Although I do love being able to watch them move about in there. What day are yours on?

Yeah it is May! My closest eggs to hatch are on day 15. I did have to pull one last night.

Broody chickens and first set of incubator quail eggs are due Tuesday.
While we can’t watch or know when the first broody baby hatches, I’d rather they take responsibility for a bad hatch, as well as brooding and acclimating to the others.
