I had 7 shipped Buckeyes hatch and 11 Bielefelder chicks hatch.

I have a small bunch of eggs going into lockdown tomorrow

This is my last hatch for the season...unless i put some of my Sebright pullet eggs in to check fertility

That’s exciting! Are you going to keep them? Or give them to your students?

My friend is taking the batch after 2 weeks! She lost her rooster to a fox last year and has a couple of older girls not laying regularly, so she is happy for free babies!

Got one out, 2 more maybe starting to zip, and another pip. No action outta the other 7, but it's day 20, so these guys are early birds.
Saw a foot in onea the larger pips, so that lil bubs may need some help at some point.

This one is fluffing up to be such a shiny gunmetal and may be melanistic, but hard to tell through the incubator cover.

One of the chicks that I gave to the broodies popped its head up to say hi! They are still on the nest and it looks like they are loving their new babies.

Where did you get your buckeye eggs? I just had an attempt at color sexing mine as I’d read it was possible but it didn’t seem very definitive in mine.
