20! We had rocking on day 18, and pips on day 19.

And now, like I said they would, 5 hatched while I was at work View attachment 3490907

Day 19. Last check had 6 pips!!!

Just set most of the second incubator today! 7 D’Uccles and 4 Barbu de Watermaals. Some of them are detached so will be added tomorrow after they’ve sat, correct end up, for 24 hours.
Here’s how I’m tracking my chickies in the two different incubators.

I’m impressed with your electronics skills! I use just a graph paper spiral notebook, I am not disciplined enough to log in to enter data, lol.

Candled all 15 of the CCL and Ice cream bar eggs and 14/15 have development. Hopefully my hen can cover 14 eggs since I need the incubator on the 11th. Lol

How exciting! Hope you get some blue/green eggs from this bunch!

It’s a little bit of a cheat - I have to be logged in all day for work. Makes it easy to remember plus the incubators are in my office. It does make it hard not to want to candle them every single day though!

Yea! Learned how to candle. Found two quitters (blood ring) a couple days ago and removed those. I thought I might have a couple infertile, but recandled those two again today (day 8), and one of the two is going strong. So... 9 so far are developing well! So happy!

I am at that exciting, but boring, and also impatient time! I have a bunch of pips but they aren't doing anything really yet I look every 20 min or so hoping to see something going on. haahaa. Watch I will wake up to a bunch of babies and miss it! I am expecting the ones under my broody to hatch overnight though.

Little lone gosling got some love
I just had a duck egg hatched too, so I put the duckling in with the gosling tonight
Added a bottle of warm water in there.
Just started fire, so the floor should be nice and warm tomorrow in the morning

I now have 8 pips. I am about 4.5 hrs into day 19..... I am going NUTS waiting for zipping! LOL And of course so far all 8 are the eggs that I am hatching for the other guy. I am still waiting on my 5 eggs but one is only on day 18 so that one is a day behind.

Sad morning. A chick hatched last night, but it looks like Mozzarella stepped on it/smothered it. It was a perfect little SLW Another is zipping now, and no pips yet on the other two. So, she still has three to work with…not all hope is lost! My son was really disappointed though next time I’m going to check without him, because explaining that to a crying 4 year old, first thing in the morning, before coffee…No thanks lol
