Are you in Florida? I've read of lots of other people there dry hatching (not adding any water until lockdown). I dry hatch here because it's a humid climate but I think your climate might be even more humid so it might be worth looking into.

As Iluveggers said, tracking weights on your next hatch would be a good idea. That would help you find what's best for your own climate and incubator.

Sure am, but, well, I'm just afraid of wasting eggs by doing a dry attach attempt.
What if I stopped adding humidity after the eggs already had humidity that was above 40 in the incubator, could I stop there after until lockdown? I haven't added humidity since day 5 or so, because of the air pocket issue, so the eggs have been growing off of what humidity is left.

Awww! So adorable! And yes, I breed OEGB and it never ceases to amaze me how TINY they are!

The bantam Cochin chicks that just hatched are bigger than my 1 week old OEGB!

It’s this darn app. It keeps jumping as I’m typing and either submits the post before I’m done or makes me click on another post somewhere else and takes me away.

No clue. It was shedding off them like crazy as they dried and I was holding them on my chest. they’re fluffy and it’s not their downy so I’m not sure what it is.
