I set 9 splash and blue silkies due the 3rd and 4th. Anyone else having hatches going on around that time?

The silkie eggs are the smaller ones in the front. The bigger ones in the back are some scovies I have due the 17th & 18th. The link for that hatching thread is here https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/post.php?fid=5

. Actually I have a quick question. Unfortunately I accidentally dropped one egg and it cracked but didn't puncture the membrane. I waxed over the crack and its still kicking but I was wondering whether or not I should peel off the wax and I would like to know if the wax will make it harder for the baby to hatch. Anyone care to join me and or have an answer? Pics welcome

I am hatching black mottled and blue mottled d'uccles. I am not sure about your little cracked one, but I'm sure someone with exp in that area will chirp in! Good luck!!

I am a school teacher and we are expecting our eggs to hatch on the 4th:lol: I took them out of the auto turner and placed them on lockdown. A few were rocking back and forth. I just hope they wait until Monday so my kids can see them. I have white leghorns and a variety of other species from people here on BYC! Good Luck with your hatch:)

I just hatched a single little Serama over the weekend. Someone gave me some eggs and two were Seramas so of course I stuck them in the incubator. One hatched and one egg was bad. Poor little baby is all alone.

I have a dozen Americauna and Bantam eggs under a Black Australorp hen and the hatch date is tomorrow May 3rd. I hope to have some hatch. She is the first year this past year to go broody and so I wanted to take advantage of it.

She has been a good setting hen.
