Hello, new to BYC, I'm looking for advice on one of my hens, I've noticed for a few weeks that her droppings have been very watery. She is the only one with this. The flock was dewormed recently and doesn't seem to have any other symptoms, just droppings that are mostly normal in color, just very wet, with the occasional being only water...

I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas about what this could be? She is a 6 month old Pekin Bantam and has been laying for around a month now.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome To BYC

Do you have photos of your pullet and her poop?
What did you deworm with?

Check her crop to make sure it's emptying overnight. While you're doing that look for any mites or lice.

Some birds consume more water during hot water and have looser stools, observe to see if she's drinking a lot.

Thanks for the response.

I dewormed her with Flubenvet, and her crop was empty this morning. We recently had a burst of hot weather. (33°c) But she had this before then, and now after. I can't see that she has any mites or lice.

Greetings & Salutations. Welcome.

Do you feed any treats such as watermelon, cucs etc., food that has a lot of moisture? I notice some of ours have loose, possibly very loose stool, depending on how much they ate. That beside the amount of water they intake on hot days.

As previously written, watch/monitor how much she is drinking and what she is eating. Just options.

What a pretty little hen!

Flubenvet is a good dewormer.

It's wonderful her crop is emptying. The poop doesn't look too bad, it's just loose.

You can try offering some probiotics to see if that makes a difference.
