What did you end up doing to treat her?thanks i will keep the eggs under her and wait to candle and my hen that was sick is doing much better her crop is better and she is doing much much better thanks everyone for your help
i did not do anything really i was on my way to go make her throw all of it up and her crop was not full and mushy any more. and when she was sick and not wanting to move i think she was just having a really hard time laying her egg but she is doing so much better knowWhat did you end up doing to treat her?
i tryed to mark my broodys eggs and she got off the nest for a day and a half but i did it in the day time should i mark them at night or will i break herI have got 3 broody silkie hens sitting on 12 eggs in one nest all at the same time. I marked the eggs for the first hen that went broody and been taking out the other eggs. Do you think I should put some Guinea eggs under them? I know the 12 eggs already there are about a week old and the 2 new broody hens have been broody for about 3 days. I don't have anymore room in my bator at the moment and would like the guinea eggs to at least have a chance of hatching. If they go under my hens then if they get of the nest when the 12 eggs hatch then I can put the guinea eggs in. Is this a good idea?
You could always let the broodies start them. If they get up when the 12 hatch will your incubator be free for you to finish them off?I have got 3 broody silkie hens sitting on 12 eggs in one nest all at the same time.
