I am so confused. Time from internal pip to external. Had an internal pip sometime in the night. I read a thread on here that external pip should get within a few hours. That worried me, so I made a safety hole at 2pm.
I regret that decision as chick was probably fine, and now risks shrink wrapping. When I made the hole I did put ointment on it inner membrane (what I could get to with a qtip). There are still veins on the inner membrane I am allowing to receed.
I looked at the assisted hatch page and it is vauge on timeline between internal and external pip.
I am mad at myself for meddling/worrying too much. I may have done more harm than good.
What are you experiences in internal pip to external pip?
While I had the bator opened, I quickly candled and 4 of the 6 have internal pips. Not helping anymore. I know 1 internally pipped this morning, but I am not making the same mistake 2x.
I just wish the time was clear on how long it can take from internal to external. Reading "a few hours" is what worried me.
