How long has she been sitting on eggs? Could you find a chick or two to give her and stick her eggs in an incubator? If she still has more than a few days to go and shes looking unwell I'd bust the nest up or slip a chick under her. If she only has a few days to go I'd try the spray/clean the nesting box and keep a close eye on her.

I take my broodys a small dish of food and water twice a day especially toward the end or in tough weather. Usually they'll let me mess with the chicks after they hatch more when I do that as well. But that means I usually end up cleaning the broody box out once a week so it doesn't attract any extra critters. We have 3 boxes side by side in a small coop that I use for broodys, I just set her/her eggs in the next one and clean out her favorite spot then put her back.

Couldnt hurt to try the vinegar mix as long as you dont soak the eggs

thanks she is on day 6 tomorrow is day seven i could not wait i just had to candle and see how she was doing and i seen one eggs is ferile but it was still kinda light outside so i could not really see in the other to well but i dont know if its fertile or not i will take a better look tomorrow night thanks for your help

Wolf now would be a really good time to give her a worming treatment, maybe start with something like wazine first and then in 10 days a stronger medication like safe guard and again in 10 days and dust her really well with a permietherine powder (sorry? Spelling) to deal with the ants. This will at least protect her body from parisite take over. No don not spray anything near the eggs or nest. Also if she's that stressed you need to move get and ger nest give her a safe place away from the others with her own food and water in reach... and she deffinatly needs to get off the nest at least to walk around and poop

She's only sitting on 2 eggs? Hmm sounds like a waste of a good broody to me lol.
The clean up shouldn't hurt the eggs but disturb her enough she might break- depends on how much she wants to brood.

Hope everyone’s hatches have been doing well. I’ve been out of commission with my son who was in a wreak Thursday before last.

But I did just candle my first set of shipped eggs and I swear I’m not really believing my thoughts eyes. They will all make it to lock down.

On the 2nd set which is on day 9 they looked really good. I think right now one so far won’t make it through the next candling. But wow these shipped eggs have been really nice. I’m just keeping finger on a decent hatch.

should i put her in a tote in the house and if i do that when would i put her back outside with the chicks thanks for your help

well this is her third time going broody and the other two times the bigger hens broke her and this time she will not get off of the nest not even one time a day i think she is scared the bigger hens will get on the nest to lay an egg and she will not be able to get back on. lol i know only two eggs is a really small amount but i dont know if i have room for any more and she is very small so if i put anymore under her some might not get warm enough lol

UPDATE!!! No visible pips this morning, but we've seen egg #2 rolling a bit and heard a peep!

7 have hatched here. Looks like 4 girls and 3 boys!

Next batch is on lockdown due Friday afternoon!

If possible I would not move her inside but create a safe area in the coop or run for her. The fact that she is already low in the pecking order could cuase bigger problem with reintroducing her with chicks unless you have a safe area. So 1 was out the other you will need to biuld a safe area.

As for her comb... does it looked pecked at all like the others are pecking her? Or does it seem to be going black on its own? I'm assuming frostbite is not an issue right now. Black combs indicate a lack of oxygen/blood flow, unless of course its scabbed. Both oxygen levels and blood flow can be lack of movement, poor nutrition (both with are common with broodies but don't usually case black combs) or parasites.

I'm going to stick with what i have already said you need to treat for mites lice and worms, you need to seperate her in some way. And you need to make sure she is eating and drinking
