May hatch-a-long

I don't know but this guy was the only chick to survive.

He is the one in front of the others. Of course he had his mama looking out for him and such.

I checked the other 4 eggs still in the incubator.

Any thoughts?

I still feel like I don't really know what I am seeing in the darker eggs.

The only one I am certain has a chance is the final one pictured. I saw movement in that one.

3 stressful hatches under broody mama today. I think she started with 7 1 removed not fertile. 1 broken by nest sharing. 1 rejected for the nest. And 1 broken/eaten in the nest by mom.

I have a really hard time telling anything from candling pictures. Its hard to say. The first looks close, the second and 3rd have very large aircells. What day are you on? Have toy done a water test to check for movement?

We are so excited!! We have a chick! :celebrate:weeThe first of the 2 under our broody hatched yesterday. It's soooo cute! The second is peeping in its shell and has pipped, so it should hatch today. Here's a Pic of our first little cutie. It's papa is a bantam barred rock and we're not sure about mama, since we have a mixed flock of LF hens.
