#2 duck is here! For my first hatch, 2/3 ain't bad. These guys are probably going to be kept! Going to hatch 8 more duck eggs after I clean up. What is the best way to clean these styrofoam incubators?

I use half and half..water/bleach in a spray bottle. I only spray the bottom of the bator, let it sit for about a min. Then I use hot hot water to rinse, then cold cold water to finish rinsing. Then I go put the lid on, crank up the heat, and let it dry out at around 104 degrees..gets a nice steam clean on top too..and oh, I put my thermometer in there too.

I use the orange dial soap to clean the bottom n the turn the heat on n let it dry n steam to clean the top

I put the bottom of the bator in the shower on hot to loosen the dried on gunk. then it rinses out, I spray it with lysol kitchen spray and paper towels, rinse, let it dry in the sun (kills bacteria!) then run it with the lid on to make sure there's no excess humidity.

for the top/lid, I just soak a paper towel in lysol kitchen spray and wipe everything down. I use a can of compressed air to blow out the fan in the forced air, lots of dust and little feathers get stuck in there!

Well today is day 20 and I've had one hatch and a bunch pip. One on the wrong end though

of course! I love photos here they are at 1 week the one with black chipmunk stripes actually turned out to be the girl. the yellow chick is the cockerel pullet at 12wks, she is next to the boy. I named her samantha but I usually call her sweet pea here is the male, his name is fat-head Ben (lol). yes he really is this wide they are both sooooo friendly. when they get scared of the big chickens, they run to me for protection it's the cutest thing I have no idea about the salmon faverolles standard of perfection, if they are good, or bad... but I really enjoy them as a breed

I have a few salmon faverolles. 2 hens and a roo. They are comical little chickens for sure
