I'm excited for you!!!

Congratulations on the new chicks and some having pips!

I only got one baby out of those bad eggs. And, when I went to open the others, oh my goodness, one was sooo stinky! It must have died a while back. Some of these were so dark, I couldn't see in them while candling, so kept them. I've only had two stinky ones like this now. Anyway, this little one came from a pretty dark egg. A marans looking egg. No feathers on the feet, but has that white dot on the head, because there were a lot of barred rock and Cuckoo ha ha..spelling! But the Cuckoo would have feathered feet. ?? Sweet little black baby. One that was close to making it in another dark egg was blue. :/ I want a blue.

Wait! The Cuckoo Marans doesn't have feathered feet! Found a lot of photos on them.

These aren't mine, but my little one looks like this.

I haven't yet Checked the newest batch of eggs I set on the 19th. No reason to. I might look at them tonight, or tomorrow night. A lot of them were really porous. So I don't know how they will fare.

I've got a bunch of feather feeters. I'm pretty sure they are salmon faverolle buff orpington mixes. Some have the 5 toes, the ones with really thick feathered feet have the 5 toes. But some have the beards and feathered feet but only 4 toes. I'm curious to see what they turn into. One might be a full on salmon faverolle. It just is totally yellow, nice beard and really thick feet feathering..and it is possible. 3rd rooster in the lineup is a faverolle, but the buff hardly lets him see any action. Oh well, time will tell

Yep, the French standard calls for feathered legs, whereas the British does not I believe (don't remember the American one). All the BCM I hatched last week had feathered legs. Sounds like a Cuckoo Marans, Cynthia!
