May hatch along :)

Hi Everyone,
I hatched eggs in April and didn't have a great hatch only 50%. The eggs i really wanted to hatch didn't (Lavender Orpingtons). They quit at lock down. So I'm waiting for my eggs to arrive. I have been collecting eggs from my EE and I having 6 Lavender Orpinton eggs shipped. I'm praying that they get here intacted.

That was actually my first hatch in the middle of April and they're production reds, I had 1 black sex link. This hatch was all reds with 2 black sex links. I only have 1 barred rock hen that was givin to me and was curious about black sex links so I put them in the bator

Hi all, I am currently in my first lockdown (day 20 for chicks, day 22 for shipped pheasant eggs) I LOVE my Black Sex links. They have been amazing layers and are very friendly. My rooster (CT) is the sweetest and biggest boy at about 17 lbs! I had a broody hen last year and had 5 chicks. Those hens are just as amazing layers! So, I decided to hatch some of my original sex links and some of their offspring's eggs this year. The first pip this morning is from CT's batch(And he has 8 hens . It is fun to see the different colors that come crossing sex links to sex links...so I am excited about these chicks. Every egg I have put in has been fertile and all made it to lock down (from our chickens). I have another bator going into lock down May 3rd with shipped Dorking eggs and my one surviving shipped Midget White Turkey egg and 20 more sex link crosses. This is so much fun. Thank you all for sharing your hatching journeys and pics of your babies. I have learned so much here at BYC and there is no way I could do this without BYC. So much great info and experience here. It's official may! When's everyones fluff butts due?
I have 10 that look to be on track developing. With my air sacs looking much better.
They are due on May 9th.
I can't wait

Joining late here. I set 28 white crested black polish on 4-22 with a due date of 5-13. Did my 8 day candle last night, and 27 of 28 show strong development. This is the highest fertility rate I have ever gotten from this rooster. Glad he's finally starting to spread the love

It is time for round 2 of baby chickens for 2015 in my house, set 12 silkies and 18 sablepoots yesterday, and 12 more silkies (accidental bid

) are going in tomorrow. I've not had great hatches with silkies so far, last year I only got a few and all but one were boys! Got my one white silkie from march and hoping that is a girl.

I wish I had space for a goose or two.

Here is the first one of my black sex link to black sex link crosses this year...isn't he adorable? He hatched about 6 hrs ago. I snatched him out quickly so as to not drop the humidity, but he was trying to nuzzle under the other eggs and I couldn't resist. His fluff is so long! Hatching the sex link crosses is like Christmas, ya never know what color, etc is coming out.
