May hatch along :)

Hubby bought me a brinsea for my birthday, it arrived today. I have set a dozen BLRW. That I drove an hour and a half to collect. This is my very first time hatching eggs. I really hope that I don't mess it up.

This is my first incubator hatching since I was a kid. This place has so much info and experienced people, I bet you will do fine. My hubby calls me the mad scientist...lol. I read and read and read...then joined. And so far, so good. :)

I have the octagon 20 advance. Thank you. The temp on the unit is 99.5 to 99.8 and the humidity is 43. I put an incu therm in too and it registered 97.1 and 43% humidity. I think I will have to trust the incubator. I don't have another thermometer to triple check.

I am not sure about anyone else, but my incu therm and my incubator are both off on temp. I have a 2 LG 9300's. One still air and one fan kit. I rely on the cheap fish tank themometers from Walmart after reading about their accuracy here. They all (I have 6 of them) are dead on. They come with the little suction things to stick on glass and I put two on each thermometer and stick one thermometer on top of the eggs and one about mid egg level, the last one on the bottom, and I try to keep an average of 99...the top is always a bit warmer and the bottom a bit cooler. It seems to have worked well for this batch so far :)

Absolutely adorable!

Thanks :)

I am using the same one, brinseas incubators are very good, and their thermomters are correct, I would trust the incubator, as u paid enough for it they better have put in a decent thermometer lol

I'm looking for some advice. I just got 6 Lavender Orpinton eggs shiped to me. No cracks but we do have detached air cells. I've read to let them sit for 24 hours and then put them into the incubator and not to turn them for 48 hours after that. I wanted to know if its okay to us my eggs turner after waiting 48 hours? Anyone with any suggestions?

I had the same problem! I let mine sit for about 3 dad before I put mine in, they are in a week tomorrow, but one of them is still detached and I have a few saddle one 2 hoping they'll be ok, 10 out of 24 shipped eggs are growing :/ I would be happy if they all hatched, because I know they have a bad hatch rate, but they are silkies, and its my first time hatching silkies I hope I get a few :D

I really hope they will be okay. I've been really wanting Lavender Orpintions. I only ordered 6 eggs because they are expensive.

Good luck with yours!

Got my fingers crossed.:fl

Thanks :) I have been wanting silkies as well, so I got as many as I could, so I could maybe get a few!! I candles tonight and out of 24 13 are fertile, so I binned the other 11!
