May hatch along :)

Are you having a lot of variety with your EEs? I tucked six eggs from my in-laws flock just to fill up the gaps and so far 5 have hatched-- they were the first to crack out a day before the Hedemora. The possibilities are a mix of EE, White Leghorn, Australorp, or Partridge Rock, and so far they all are colored differently. I can definitely see the cheek fluff.

This is my first time hatching any Hedemora, I've owned a few adults and decided to buy some eBay eggs. I see another Hedemora has started since I woke up, I hope we have all five hatching (wishful thinking, but how great that would be). :)
I love the little EE I have. But, I have a trio; with beards and muffs. I don't have them mixed with anything so they are not autosexing...wish they were! My roo is my Avatar. We set 6 last time and 6 hatched. Hardest to see in the green shells tho so I have no idea who's hatching today. If they all hatch I am going to have to start selling some bc I will have way too many ! LOL

How do you like the Hedemora breed? They are supposed to be very cold hardy! Certainly look beautiful.

My Hona's are starting to PIP now!

Day 20 for my easter eggers! 9 went into lockdown and were all right on track! Nothing's happened yet no chirps no external pips(maybe some internal but I'm not going to check) come on babies! I can't wait for them to hatch!

I started with a small batch of EEs that all looked the same, mostly orange base with a lot of black. My first hatch of 22 this year produced orange with black, mostly black with orange, a few black with white, a few white with black, and two solid white. I love EEs! Now I'm waiting to see how the egg color will be

A bag of the glass decorator pebbles has fixed our temp fluctuation issues. We have a styro we filled the outer edges with the stones under the mesh and it has held temps steady just great
Hey...that's a great idea!!! Then you can just clorox the glass rock and go for the next round or put them in your flower vases!

Moving into day 21 for me....Easter Eggers still popping out like popcorn. Couple good pips in the Isbar eggs one in a Swedish Hen...nothing on the Hona's yet.

For those of you on day 20 don't fear....Sometimes they hatch right on time...Day 21 and beyond. My little brinsea mini pops them out right on Day 21.

{ On a bummer note I just got my Spitzhauben chicks that I ordered from GFF and the post office lost for 2 extra days...one standing! }

Did some candlings, 12/24 silkie eggs, a couple of others maybe but are really hard to see into for some reason. 12/18 sablepoots! Gonna have a full house in a few weeks.
