Finally got my temp regulated and set my eggs this morning so hatch day is 5/12! It's just 8 Isa Brown eggs, but I'm still excited!

You should get a nice mix of colors if you are breeding isa browns together. Finally got my temp regulated and set my eggs this morning so hatch day is 5/12! It's just 8 Isa Brown eggs, but I'm still excited!
Yes I am I have a few of my bantam mix hens and some of my BBS cochin eggs in with the LF.I also have some Chocolate bantam Orpington eggs I bought. How is everybody doing with their hatching? Anyone else hatching bantams?I am on day 6 so in 4 days I am going to candle light them and see what I have got! I hope some of mine hatch.
I have a final count of 5 chickspretty bad from 21 eggs, out of that 9 were infertile, and 6 died during incubatoin!![]()
I think bantams are so cute, but we have such a large family, and I primarily need them for eggs right now, that it's just not practical for me to keep them...one day I'll have a small flock of bantam frizzle cochins. What's everyone's dream flock??? Since I am trying to pass the time until candling...for me it would be Buff Brahmas, Frizzle Cochins, Swedish Flower Hens, Barred Rocks, Freedom Rangers or some other good meat heritage breed, Porcelain D'Uccle, Ancona ducks, Silver Appleyard Ducks, Buff ducks, Cayuga Ducks, lilac guineas, ring neck and Golden pheasants, and some heritage breed of turkeys.
I had 2 temp spikes to 104...I'm hoping because it's a still air and I'm checking it frequently, that it didn't cause too much of a problem...I'm not expecting huge hatch rates, but 50% would be nice...we are ordering our guineas and meat chicks through the feed store soon...I might slip a few buff brahma's, poults, and buff orps into it...the chicks will arrive almost the same time as these hatch, so hubby will never notice the difference, right? lol
