May hatch along :)

I have my incubator loaded with 29 Blue Splash Maran eggs and 12 Golden Lace Wyandotte eggs that were fertilized by my Blue Splash Maran Rooster. Should hatch May 7th.

I also have 2 hens setting about a dozen eggs each. The first hen setting should hatch somewhere close to May 1st and the other around May 9th

I just ran the incubator in my wife's classroom with the Maran / Wyandotte eggs in it and wasn't a good run only 4 hatched. Trying again at home keeping the humidity higher this time. This is one of the four that hatched 5 days ago.

I've been MIA since I lost my flock to coyotes the year before last. Since we were renting we decided to hold off on getting any more birds...well, we have bought our dream property, have 9 ducks now, and I have 8 eggs going in the bator today! Not many but we only want a small laying flock to start and i wanted to test out my bator before I do a bigger hatch. I want to hatch some turkeys, ducks, and maybe pheasant as well...but for now, we'll start with the $2.50 a dozen local fertile eggs to test it out since I haven't had it set up in almost 2 years! They are supposed to just be ISA Browns, but I saw some colored eggs, so I'm betting she has a mixed flock...which I'm fine with for now. :) Good luck to everyone with their hatches! Hatch day should be 5/11!

I have my very first batch ever in the incubator, due May 7! It's seven of my own barnyard mix. I have nine hens of all different breeds, and a who-knows-what rooster to service them. I put in some dark brown eggs and some blue eggs, so hopefully I'll hatch somehing that lays interesting colored eggs.
