OOh! Those sound lovely! Once I found several breeds I really liked, I narrowed down from there...and stopped looking lol. So there are probably others I would like too, but I'm not allowing myself to even know about those.

What kind of ducks do you have?

I just found out I'm getting Easter Egger's, Frizzle Cochin Bantams, and Turkey Hatching Eggs from my super awesome neighbor for FREE within the next month!!!!! AND...I have at least 1 developing egg! lol! I normally don't candle early, but the lady farmer I got the eggs from dropped by to bring me another 2 dozen, and we were chatting and she was saying she was nervous because she hasn't hatched out any of her own eggs yet, and she's been giving fertile eggs to the schools and such locally and 4H for hatching...so I went ahead and candled one to show her, and it is right on track! Yay!

I know, but I'm putting another 24 eggs in tonight, so I hopefully they'll be better !!

They are muscovies, they previous owner left them when we bought the place.Guess her husband died suddenly and family sold the place for her. They left some mixed free ranging chickens as well EEs.And way to many roosters I finally got rounded up.Still have one more that's hard to catch and 10 more boy ducks to catch as well.

400

I'll join this hatch along aswell. I have 10 ridley bronze turkey eggs left that look healthy. They are due may 11, next after that would probably be an attempt at coturnix quail due to their short incubation cycle. This waiting is taking too long! It wouldn't be in my dream flock, but incubating an ostrich egg would be interesting, no?

We're expecting our very first eggs ever to hatch on May 3rd or 4th. Any born on the the 4th have to be Star Wars themed husband said

(May the Fourth be With You).

We have three types setting: Hedemora, Isbar, and a few backyard mixes from my in-laws just to fill the incubator. We just candled about an hour ago and saw 5/8 Hedemora embryos jumping around. The rest, because of their shell pigment, were harder to tell. Some didn't look fertile. We only had the rooster running with them for about 3 days so I think we'll try again for a week this time and try again.

Good luck to u's both, I have 5 geese eggs, due to hatch on May the 1st, and I am putting 24 silkie eggs in tomorrow due to hatch on the 16th

That's good :) apart from your silkies tho :/ sorry to hear about that!

My geese are going into lock down tomorrow :D
