May Hatch Thread--Fill up those bators n' broodies!

:woot  Well my final hatch of may has officaly begun.  I set 7 cochins 19 days back and this afternoon two have pipped and are chirpin away in the hatcher i think it is a joyous sound that you never tire of . I have been in many hatchalongs but this may thread has been special . There have been many a chickadee hatched all around the world this month and the folks here have been just the best bunch i have ever hatched with,, i have met some new freinds and ran acrossed a few old ones had some good laughs and a few sad moments to boot  any way before i start to ramble ( like you guys no i can do well ) lol ill just say thanks for all the kind words and laughs and good luck to all the new and seasoned hatchers here on the may hatchalong hope our paths cross again and remember most of all to have FUN and happy hatching !!!:frow

Awe! Good luck with your hatch as well! I have enjoyed the whole site very much!! Lots of very nice, knowledgeable, helpful people here, right from my very first post!!

Come ON JNJ. I have 6 pipping and chirpy rolly polly eggs in both hatchers. Thought I'd froze, then cooked em. And to add to El's rules. They are coming out. Had a spike earlier in a hatcher of 108. Was screaming such horrid things at it. Then they started pipping. Other hatcher is staying perfect after the power failure this morning. Think after these I need to clean heating element or something. Might replace thermo like I did in hatcer 1.
Dont beat her up to bad acre she has had a rough month with those bunts,,,,,, next month she is applying for the U.S post master generals job so she can kick sum butts and take names !

Yeah same issue here Chicky. It just works, even if it don't work right. Lockdown yesterday. Lost power 63 degree temp in bator this morning. Re-adjust spiked to 108. Finally got it levelled at 99 and all the while hoping that those 3 new pips in there aren't hallucination. Pips rolls chirps. Just waiting for the zips. Gnawing my fingers off.

And they were due Friday. Go figure.

Just look at how yellow that baby is!! Mine are buff and dark...And one grey??
i had a yellow Surprise on my last hatch and have spent the last week staring at this dude in the brooder trying to figure out where and what he is lol then this morning it hit me like a hammer i only had one white breed in the hatch but thought i had them all correctly marked on the crown of the eggs at day nine when i candled ( yes i said day nine) i hate to candle i want them all to be good and hate to pull the bad ones but it is inevitable lol any hoo i had set 18 light Sussex and had my hopes set as always to get a breeding trio but will settle for a pair , any way ( rambling ) they were all clears and one was to dark to tell for sure so i culled all but the iffy that ended up not hatching thinking all 18 were a bust but i will be ( insert explicit here ) that this guy is showing white wings with black wing Barr just like a Sussex i guess i missed one when i marked and set go figure lol
