May Hatch Thread--Fill up those bators n' broodies!

Well it has been a long day. My girls 15 and 13 were working and riding horses today. My 13 was on our paint and he spooked and took off with her and started bucking. On third buck she flew off. Called 911 and ambulance came out and took her in. After many hours and a kind staff. We have found out a chip is broke off of her L2 verterbe and has to wear a back brace. She already has scoliosis and this verterbe is in the middle of a curve in her back. So now we have a dr apt coming in her near future. So glad that is all that is wrong with her. She is definitely one tough cookie. And strong like her grandpa who was a bull rider. I guess you could say she is a chip off the old block. Lol.

I would say I'm sorry about what happened but you are gonna hear plenty of that in the days to come so I'll just be the realist that I am and say I copmpleatly shattered l 3-4-5 in a snowmobile crash back in 2000 and was quite a few years older than chip and I'm sure u guys coming from a bull riding family are no strangers to broken bones in all points of the body so u just tell chip to cowgirl up and get better all the best and get well soon

Wife's orders mine stays up! LOL
Not quite there yet. More rollings and bigger pips though. That hatcher FINALLY evened out for me. I trying to keep busy making a big table top bator with some stuff. LOL More room to hatch. I'll check again before morning but staying away so I don't get urges to assist when unneeded.

Forgot JNJ had those tricky birds. She'll get em this time. Betcha.

Just realized. I haven't ate eggs in a week. Hmmmm somethings funny about that. We seem to be cooking em but never eat em.

Well woke up to 4 chicks all had zipped very cleanly and all 4 are healthy. This hatch is going so much better and I think it's because I hardly messed with the eggs. I've got two more pipped and possibly a 3rd but I couldn't tell because appeared to be another bottom pipper but either 4-6 will make me happy out of 10 in the bator! I'm so happy my blue egg hatched its an ee x Cochin mix will be interesting just blues and blacks so far I hope for just one splash !!

I'm sorry for those that have had problems and congrats to everyone on your hatches! Good luck to everyone who is still waiting! Hopefully will have pictures up this evening of the fluffed up babies.

Dont beat her up to bad acre she has had a rough month with those bunts,,,,,, next month she is applying for the U.S post master generals job so she can kick sum butts and take names !

LOL This bunch due to hatch tomorrow is also shipped eggs. Not looking real good considering I culled down to 9 from 24! The box had a cut in the side almost 2 inches long, looked like it got caught in some kind of sorter? I had a very large drop in evaporation since uping the humidity and placing in hatcher. I can shine my candler down and see how much more below the last mark it has gone. Has me extremely nervous! But with my hatches, everything has been late. So if I get any chicks I am not expecting anything till Saturday! If I get 1 I will be happy, these are my sizzles!!!

Woke up to three cochins in the bator only expecting one more out of the seven in this set but I locked them all down any way ( u now that hope thing ) the other three eggs were laid by a hen that just hatched four of her own three weeks back so I think her eggs are just a lil funky as she just started back to laying but this is my first time hatching Cochins and they are huge chicks outta the shell tall and lean they appear to be buffs should be nice looking birds when feathered out I'm gonna let things go till the am tomorrow and get these guys into the brooder pics on the way
