Nice Ceocka. I am short RIR roo otherwise i'd set every one. For now I am down to BA (Roos and hens) BR (Hens) BO (hens) SLC (Roo) and 1 RIR hen. I have a handful of other reds but their Red Star type laying crosses and 1 White laying cross (BA I think black specks in plumage). In the bator due Friday is a mix of the BA, BR (At least I can SL them ;-) White crosses and some RIR. But all these have BA Sires. At least fertility was up around 94% on day 7 (Power outage may have smack that to bits. But staying in there).
I have breeds and crosses seperate for next setting any day now. Gonna try my New and improved (Cuz I didn't have it!!!!) Homade FA Bator with x2 the inner setting space (More if I get giddy and make shelves/racks). All from recycled items except the 40w bulbs I bought for this. Not sure about 2 roos fertility even with last batch so high. Should know in a week or so (Both if bator will cook my eggs and fertility levels stable or flopped).
If the latter might have soup in 10 days. But way off point. Wish I had the 5 dz RIR myself. Love them. But unless I can find a couple roos on CL I prolly gonna stick with what I have until I can be should I have pure BA cockerals to replace my old (3+ y/o)
