I did, and I have 1 live chick, very weak but alive. Thank goodness I had some sav a chick, so I got a couple drops down it. We will see what morning brings
wow what a drag that really is the pits all the way to pip and then this, that totally the suxYes I just put the sizzles in the bator with the new chick. I doubt it makes it till morning. It is very weak. I have it on a soft cloth in the bator keeping warm hopefully. When I went in to assist I grabbed the other 2 eggs and checked for life. I was correct, both died pipping. They had internally pipped but the wonky aircell prevented them from being able to reach the shell to crack it. Both were beautiful dark chicks. The chick that did pip just happen to get in the right spot. Still the aircell was so large the membrane on the inside of the shell wasnt even touching the chick for more than half the egg. I had to help remove almost half the shell. All blood vessels were absorbed and the yolk. So it was more than ready to hatch.
After these Sizzles hatch I will NEVER hatch shipped eggs again. If I cant drive to pick up the eggs or chicks, I dont need them....lol
getter doneSo here is my 1st hatch result. I bought 6 Polish Frizzle eggs, they shipped 9, only 7 made it into bator, 3 made it to lockdown, 1 pipped, I had to finish the hatch. It is alive but very weak, just got a couple drops of sav a chick in it. Will update "Miracle" in the morning.
Next hatch is 14 Tolbunt Polish, lockdown is Tuesday, hatch day is 1 week from tomorrow. Next is another batch of Tolbunts, hatch is 4 days later. Then tonight I placed 24 Sizzles in the bator. Hatch day of May 31st. So I will have 4 hatches this month. Good Lord!
wow what a drag that really is the pits all the way to pip and then this, that totally the suxwell the reason i asked about your sizzles is because i stopped by my mother in laws after work and picked up seven cochinchina eggs or for the non Spanish speakers in the house Cochin's lol she has two beautiful buffs and a rooster named Fidel Castro lol he is a beast i would say around twelve pounds or better one of her hens just hatched five cute lil feather legs ,, i figured we can set them together and compare the the hatch you said you were using a innovators 2200 as a loner and second bator i thought ? i have one running next to my hova we can compare results in the same bators ,,, sounds fun![]()
lol Jim you know hatching is addictive,,,,, i was at a motorcycle swap meet a few months back and was talking with a group of guys standing in the parking lot one guy asked if i wanted to ride up the road and grab a few beers it was a sunday afternoon and i had to work in the AM so i declined and said no i dont drink to much anymore and not on days when i work in the morning another couple of guys were passing around a joint and i declined and said no i dont smoke to much any more the third guy looked at me kinda funny and said what do you do ? i said i ride a harley and hatch chickens ,,,,,,,,,,,Yikes, and I thought I had it bad!
You make me look like a man of moderation![]()
oki doki then im washing my hands and heading for the incubator roomI have my sizzles in the innovator until hatch day on the tolbunts. Then I will have to do the egg shuffle.....lol And yes my 2nd is a Hova. The Hova is mine and the 2200 borrowed. So we can still compare. The chick is a real fighter. We will see what morning brings. I think it is going to be a beautiful bird. It's kinda yellow with some dark spots. There is a frizzle gene in her flock, so thats always a possibility.
Better get your eggs going!
