Well I went to the feed store and came home with some new chicks.... only 2, a black silkie and coincidentally a polish with gold and black down. They said it was a type 2 dan-something, anyone know what that is? lol
Quail still cooking....steady heat, no humidity problems, things are good!

Thats up to you. But I know I wouldnt want to stress my broody any more than I had to!

Thanks. I think this may be her first clutch - I had been saving eggs for a few days (had 4) and noticed her going broody on two in the box, so I slid those under her a week ago. I went out today to candle, and she came out to eat/drink/scratch around - and there were 10-11 there! Thinking of leaving her be unless I see one or more consistently left out of the Mama Fluff

Oh I am sooooooooooooo very upset. Can't get the humidity below 70% and the temp above 97 in the lockdown bator!!!! And to top it off i am leaving town at 630 am and don't know when I'll be back!!! It could be late Friday, sometime Sat or Sun...

And this was my stress reliever! HA! Not so much!!

For some reason always seems to go this way for me too. Not the flux just the stress relief/build up. When I should freak I don't and when I should be laid back I am high strung and wired. Its worth it though, to me at least I will make anything work for me. Just have more work to do if it gets complicated and another reason to HATCH some more chicks.

If you have a little space heater to set on low, that may help - extra heat in the room would help temp and humidity both, I'd think...good luck! Do you have a trusted neighbor who can check on everything while you're out?
