May I have opinions on these Tractor Supply coops?

Our local TS has these two coops in stock. As we have two weeks to be ready for our 4 little pullets, we are considering buying instead of making a coop. Could I get your opinions please?

We're in SW Missouri. Heat will be a bigger problem than cold for our chickens. I'm a bit worried about predators as we live in the country, though we haven't actually seen any.

Thanks so much!!!

The TS coups are ok for a short stint. They usually have to be fortified with hardware cloth to be safe. I will use them inside a prefab run (amazon). But I would never consider using them without help. You can get good prefab coops. But just remember you get what you pay for usually. If you are going to have chickens for a while get a good one. I have paid just as much to "fix" a small less expensive coop as I would just to purchase a good one.

I find the coop kits are too small and the wood isn't thick at all. Keep in mind of roosting area and nesting. It can get cramped quickly. Good luck!
We got one when we first had chickens. They are not good quality at all. I agree....spend more and get an Amish coop. You'll end up getting something else in the long run. Stay away from the ts coops and get a better one.

I made the mistake ordering one the first time I got chicks. I ended up building my own coop and run. From there on, I just build my own. You can spend about the same amount of money (maybe a little more) in materials and have something much suitable, durable and comfortable your flock.

Waste of money. Both are extremely small.

They appear to be large in pictures but they are not anywhere near the size they appear to be in their pictures.
Completely agree. We bought one of these coops as a temporary grow out coop for the chics and mom until we integrated everyone in the main coop. It’s beyond small!!! Says 6 birds. It barely held 3.

I have the coop in the first link. I don't recommend it. It is definitely not predator proof and tells you in the directions to add additional protection. (i am in a low predator area). Having built a coop, i highly recommend you build your own. You will get much more for your money.

Well shoot. Thank you all. I really, REALLY don't want to spend more than $600 on this. Not with all the other stuff that goes along with getting started. Back to the drawing board.
Do you have a local sale listing or Facebook Marketplace you could check? Craigslist sometimes has them as well. Just a few suggestions.
