Maybe impacted crop...maybe not?

If anyone is still following, the interim report from the state lab is pointing to cancer or lymphoma. It's so sad when something completely unstoppable takes one of your animals.

Its great that your hens dont have Mareks, but i agree. Cancer is horrible but with laying hens my vet told me its very common. Some hens will pass on fast and some will hold on for years. Its unpredictable but sad nonetheless. One of my hens has cancer and another is suspected to have it. I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you are doing alright :)

Mine just told me the same, that it's so prevalent in our chickens. Just terrible. Thanks for the sentiments and understanding - having animals of any kind is such a joy but it certainly has its low points too. Hoping the remainder of my flock is free of it and we can add some chicks this spring.
