Yes, it's our job to keep our chickies as safe as we can! I learned a hard lesson the last week...wondering what was suddenly disposing of my girls. Thinking it was a raccoon, I set up a trap, intending to do the triple "S".... Next morning, no raccoon but still a dead chicken. Next night, lo and behold, an owl flew out of the three sided coop....boarded it up till the fourth side can be built along with a door....haven't had any losses since then.
The owl was about 12-15 inches tall but, for a few nights, it had some good eatin'.....
