hello, I have 3 duck eggs incubating at the moment, it is the beginning of day 24 and I went to candle the eggs. When I lifted the lid off one of the eggs was wobbling/wiggling around. Should I put them into lock down early? They also wiggle when I talk to them. When I started incubating the eggs they were already about 5 days old, could they have started growing before incubation and possibly be due earlier?
Thanks x

Lemme guess... you can also hear 'click click' sound when you hold the eggs to your ear and talk to them, maybe even faint chirping voice. The air cells have also tilted very noticeably.

I'd lock down if they were my eggs. Good luck.

Brillnt thankyou !

I'd say it's safe to put them in an early lock-down if your see the eggs rocking around.. Have you candled the eggs for any signs of internal pipping?
This is what an internal pip should look like~

The biggest reason to put them in lock down early would be if they're drawn down already or you see internal pips like in Miller's Farm's photo above. The wiggling is normal activity. The ducklings are getting into position in preparation for hatch, but it doesn't necessarily mean they're going to hatch early.

What do you mean drawn down?
