THREW it out!?!? My babysitter uses every last precious drop of BM.... she BF her son for 14 months, and knows just how important it is, AND how hard it can be to retrieve it as well!

My grandmother babysat for me one time, and threw out BM that Evie didnt finish in the bottle, not knowing it could be saved in the fridge for later. When she told me that she threw out half a bottle I think I may have almost cried then too...

Generally it is not a good idea to save milk from a partially used bottle, regardless of whether formula or breastmilk. Much better to give two smaller bottles and not risk partial digestion and spoilage of the breastmilk by placing an unfinished bottle it back in the refrigerator.

Yep, looking back, I would have been so livid IF I would have found out but it was two years later. I gave her four bottles of breast milk since she didn't eat that much at five weeks old for overnight stay.

Same reason that you should not feed directly out of the jar unless the baby is likely to finish the whole jar.

Oh no! I've been there, and cried about it. And been laughed at by co-workers who didn't understand. I exclusively pumped for my #3 kid for a year and a half. Still breastfeeding my youngest who'll be 4 on the 29th. Hang in there mama, it's more than worth it!
