Maybe we are related, what was your maiden name or your mama's?

My maiden name was Cote prononced Cotay. I know that my grandmother on my father's side was Potawatami indian and french. When the French settled in America, the Potawatami indian tribe were the most receptive to them. I've done some research of the Potawatami tribe and found out that I'm eligible for all kinds of benefits due to my heritage. I haven't taken advantage of any of these yet, but my sisters have and are getting checks and their schooling paid for! I should probably no be so lazy. Maybe I can get a chicken stimulus check!!!

National Geographic has a show on tonight about "...we are all more closely related than we think..." or something like that....

You know, you might be right!!! I didn't think about that. I swear, you can't even have fun anymore can you without it possibly letting someone tap into your account. BUT, they also say now NOT to use those names, because people you know and trust also know and might let it leak to someone else. . .if the moderators thinks its time to shut it down, that is fine with me!!! Thanks everyone, I was always hoping I was related to Woody Guthrie, because my grandpa DOES favor him and Arlo, but guess I will never know unless I start digging.

My Mom's side of the family has Schlottfeldt, Tarbott, and Hayes. My Dad's side has Grummie and Chatfield, but since my Grandma was very close-mouthed about her family and my Grandpa was an orphan, we don't know much about that side.

We really should get together and do some research!

The Livingstons were a family of great wealth. The were granted land along the Hudson River ,by the Queen of England. The town is now called Clairmont. The Livingstons brought over Palestine Germans to work for them. Look up the history of Ancram. Livingstons are the reason the area was settled.....I'm a history buff.

I was thinking the same thing about the potential to access account info. Not a good idea at all and I'm wondering why the question about just one's mother's maiden name?

I'm not usually paranoid but someone just stole my son's SS cards out of my purse, so now I'm thinking more along the suspicious lines.

Family legend is that we are descended from that branch. However I have found no proof, so I tend to discount that.

We are supposedly related to William Livingston of NJ who signed the Constitution. I'd love to know if we really are but finding info on that side of the family is hard, I never really knew any of them. So if anyone knows Hope or Allen Livingston, last known address was in or around Atlanta, I'd love to know. He should be 47 now since I am 46 and he was born before me on the wrong side of the blanket. Hope is or was his wife and she is around 44 I think.
