Good grief.

Did I read it correctly. Dangerous dogs may have been released. Sick dogs may have been released. The Humane Society condoned the release.

How many laws were broken there. At least one federal law.

People recreating on the forest are now at risk from these dogs. Wildlife is now at greater risk. Abandoned dogs have a reputation for going feral fairly rapidly and forming packs. I hate to say it but they need to be hunted down and shot. It's going to be pretty hard to get that mess under control by catching the dogs, putting them back into an adequate shelter, and finding homes for them.

Unbelievable.

OH MY!!!!!

I can't for the life of me understand what he was thinking...
If the kennel was dirty, clean it....
If people were being bitten, take care of the dog....
If the were running together in the pound I assume some may be breed....Doesn't sound as if they could afford to fix the dogs, if they couldn't even clean the pound...
I have seen some pretty nasty pounds before. And also some top notch pounds....
Some are all volunteer, others were paid employees. Some were no kill shelters, others would put animals down...

What I don't understand is...............

The dogs were in the pound for what ever reason...unwanted, stray, surrendered....
So instead of seeing if another pound/shelter could help out....He turns the dogs loose...Not that I like the idea of putting a dog to sleep..(although I have had to put some of my own dogs down)...I personally feel putting them down would of been better than letting them run wild....Eventually they will become wild and uncontrollable. Endangering not only the humans in and around the area, but also the dogs themselves...

If this was something that I or another everyday person did....I bet my last dollar that I would be fined until the sun didnt' shine no more.... I just wonder if he will get the same.........

(On a side note....I once saw my uncle dump a litter of 8 puppies in the grocery store parking lot....I was about 9 years old. I reported him....He was slapped with 8 counts of abandoning the puppies, 8 counts of littering, 8 counts of unregistered dogs, 8 counts of not having the dogs up to date with there shots, 8 counts of endangerment...I know there was more, just can't remember now.... His fines were in the few thousand dollar range...To this day I still don't like that uncle, nor do I like him.....He found out years later that I was the one who reported him.....)

He needs to be set free... to find another JOB! Maybe he can find a nice low paying minimum wage job with no benefits or perks of any kind. What a lump of fecal matter.

Maybe when the dogs turn feral and are starving they can catch the mayor and anyone else involved in the no kill traps and set them out in the woods for the dogs to come and torment and harrass....Until they are scare....sh!tless(censored word).Maybe they will see the stupidness of what they have done......

I have to agree though, the dogs are going to probably have to be put down.....
I really don't see the justification of releasing aggressive, sick, or injured dogs....
Nothing like spreading it around to other dogs, or people....
If there are wolves in the National Park/Forrest I wonder if the dogs will be destroyed by them, or if they will become part of the pack.....

As far as I know there arent any wolves around here, but theres lots of coyotes.

Also, I know for a fact, that a few months ago, the shelter where I live....well, I dont actually LIVE at the shelter, so to rephrase that..the shelter in the town I live in, took ALL of the dogs from the Helena shelter, because they were being kept in in a vacant parking lot in portable dog kennels, with tarps over the tops. The owner of the parking lot sold it, and the dogs had to go somewhere. There were 4 and 5 dogs to a tiny kennel, and the shelter here took all of them, and kept some, and found other shelters to take others, they delivered the dogs to shelters all over Arkansas. The shelter in Monticello and the Vets office there took most of them. I am sure they would have taken these dogs also. He just did this to P.O. all the people complaining.

Geez if it's a National Forest he released them into, shouldn't that be considered a Federal Crime? Seems to me he could be in some trouble here and I hope he is! What a jerk!
