I have 2 week old hamburgs from McMurray, and 4 dark cornish. one dark cornish had a crossed bill and can't eat, and the other can't walk. 2 hamburgs died. 9 hamburgs can't walk. I have been feeding non medicated dumor chick starter, and lately supplemented with lecithin. (within 2 days)

I am stumped. This is the 4th year we have gotten chicks from mcmurray, chicks, ducks, turkeys, etc. Seems that every shipment has a bird or two with some birth defect. Calling them today to see what we can do, just very frustrated and thinking I should have bought from another supplier.

I'd be interested in hearing what they have to say. Let us know.

Sorry, yes they were vaccinated for Mareks and coccidosis. I called McMurray and they gave me a credit for the chicks. the rep was understanding and professional, and said sometimes stuff like this happens. They made me whole from a legal perspective but I am worried for the chicks that can't walk and am now worried they may have to be culled/euthanized. We have to devote special time and attention to these every day to make sure they can reach food, and have seperated them from the rest of the flock. Sigh. will update.

They should be happy, normal chicks with only water and chick feed. Must be something seriously wrong with where Mc Murrary gets their eggs. Not anything you did wrong. So sorry you have to go thru this.

I quit ordering from hatcheries along time ago and just buy from friends and those that have show quality birds.
