McMurray Experiences?

Yes, but saying that to a newby will only confuse them IMO. I know there are many hatcheries who have their fertile eggs brought in from certain farms but saying they don't have chickens was a little confusing even to me. Now, if she asked about how the breeder chickens were kept that would have made more sense.

SO anyway gitlost80...there was just another thread on McMurray about how well they have stepped it up after their recent outbreak in their hatchery so I have heard that the recent orders have been pretty good. I did order from them but my crew won't be here until March 18 about. Good luck on yours and let us know how yours did too

I have always ordered from mcmurray and never had a bad experience. Any birds that died in shipment, which were few if any, were refunded no questions asked. For a begginer I would reccomend them. However I have noticed the birds I have gotten from them are not up to standard. As a result I do not think I will order from them again, but would rather get my birds from a breeder. I hope this helps.

My uncle ordered from McMurray for years without a problem. He wasnt looking for show or breeding quality though, I imagine that makes a difference.

Wasn't there an identical thread like this that I also posted in yesterday?

Well I'll say it again - I was one of those people who gave MM a bad rating, and I still would - For people who want a beautiful, up to standard bird. Also, I've heard McMurray often goes through epidemics in their stock, one which we actually caught in our first batch.

If I were to order from a hatchery again (which I wouldn't, breeders have far better birds and they are not as expensive as people complain, nor do they have terible limits on how much you buy) I wouldn't go with McMurray, but instead a hatchery with newer, more reliable stock. I've heard lots on Ideal, and may go with them. . . Or someone else.

Just remember that chicken's die very easily, Mcmurray is a very good hatchery and I ordered there and I was very pleased. your chickies should be fine, good luck and Have fun with your 'babies'!
