As the title says, mystery chick from McMurray, and they have a bunch of breeds.

About a month old.

Single comb

The feet have a dull yellow undercolor and looks like gray over top. (Not at all slate!)

Very much NOT barred rock. Has a very cold silver kind of color.

Clearly not a breed that I have had before.

Yes, I cut off the head. But good feet shot.

Thanks for any guesses!

As a chick it looked like a brown leghorn or speckled sussex.

Silver Pencilled Plymouth Rock.

I looked through the McMurray catalog, AGAIN....

Any of you ever have the Egyptian Fayoumis?

I am wondering if that is what it is? Maybe the white neck comes in with the adult feathers?

A partridge rock maybe?
Aren't partridges brown base? I have some partridge Chanteclers right now... different breed... but partridge color... lots of brown.
Silver Pencilled Plymouth Rock.
Oh! I haven't had any silver penciled before... (in any breed), I could see that being a possibility. I will have to look at her again in the morning, see how stout she looks compared to her companions.

I looked at the McMurray catalog AGAIN :lau then had to google a photo, they only show the male!!!

No wonder I didn't consider that possibility before!

Nice! And, that is the only breed of silver penciled that McMurray sells.

So... if fat, a Rock, if skinny, an Egyptian! :gig
