McMurry's ALL pullets? Can it be true?

Had to ask because one looks roo'ish. Probably is the one they throw in for good measure (they have to get rid of the roo's somehow right?

MMM has been right on the money with my pullets, they're all what they are supposed to be, even my mystery chick (EE) has turned out to be a pullet, I was actually expecting it to be a roo.

Some of my pullets from MM were actually cockerels. I'm just gonna eat them.

I am have difficulty with the killing part...have yet to do my first.

If I could do it over again, I would have ordered 22 pullets & 3 roos....but I ordered ST RUN from their catalog & ended up with 17 roosters, out of my 25 birds!

Overall, I think they do a pretty good job with the sexed ones. My MIL ordered some sort of "laying" mixture & got ALL pullets....

MMM has been 100% correct with about sixty chicks for me.

what was explained to me by the lady I spoke with at Meyer, when you order straight run, they fill the sexed orders first, then fill the straight run orders. So when you order straight run, you are going to get mostly roos, because people have ordered all pullets. I would only order straight run for meat birds.

Yeah, I learned that one the hard way!

If I ever order chicks again, I'll just order the sexes & want & spend the extra money. It would be worth it to not have to cull 15 roosters.

OR to raise them to adulthood to see who is worthy of keeping as a breeder & who's not.

I've ordered over 130 chicks from MM. The only time I requested a free rare breed, it was a roo.
All of the others from each order have been pullets, except for the last order when I ordered a roo. Of the extra two I got in that order, one was a roo and one was a pullet (so I got 2 roos).
From my experience with them, it appears that they sent extra pullets if I ordered only pullets. Since I ordered a roo in one order they added "whatever". And my free rare breed was a roo.
