My husband and I have been feeding our baby gunieas (1 month old) a handful of dried meal worms as a treat. Today when he went to the feed store the lady told him, I hope you are not feeding these to your gunieas! She said the gunieas will get use to eating the mealworms and then only want mealworms and starve themselves..... is this true? I can't tell if they are eating there regular food because they make a mess of everything... I have never heard of such a thing, does the old saying apply "if their hungry they'll eat anything?" HELP! Pinky

Yep, she's wrong and that's not true at all! Keep feeding them treats! If that was true at all, the second any guinea was let outside they'd get used to eating bugs, refuse to eat their feed, and die in the winter. It just wouldn't happen.
