Our peeps are about 10 days old. Can we feed them meal worms? Or a better question might be how old before you feed your peeps meal worms?

Although I think Blue here could skip a meal ;)

Honestly, I think it would be just fine! When mother hens take their chicks outside... do you think that she keeps them away from bugs, worms etc?? Nope.
They will LOVE them, and it's a great source of protein! I say go for it!
BTW, You chicks are absolutely GORGEOUS!!:love:love

Meyer Hatchery recommends starting mealworms at three weeks of age with starter grit and leafy greens limited. This is what I did and chicks are doing fine. They love their mealworm treats, grit, and leafy greens.
:welcome! I hope that you enjoy this site as much as the rest of us do! I have learned SOOO much from this site, and I hope that you do too!:thumbsup

Well now, that makes perfect sense. And thanks, we think our chicks are cute too :)

I give my chicks grit from the start, and mealworms at maybe 1 to 2 weeks. No real right or wrong as far as timing, I give them the option to try something and if they don't take to it at first, I try again some other day.
