Mealworm farming

v
I just had my first pupae turn to darkling beetles, and right now there are three beetles. The beetles seem very inactive right now, i havn't seen them eat and it seems like they mostly just burrow down and hide all day. Is this normal for the first few days of the adult stage?

Thanks, any and all answers are appreciated =)
they will do that because they dont like light...when they turn black they will mate...also once you have hundred plus they will be on top of the bedding...so give it some time..during the day most of them will be under the bedding and towards night time most should be out....

I put about 6 or 7" of fresh (no bugs) bran in a 10 gal aquarium. Put the mealworms in & layer the top with a bunch of 1/4 inch slices of raw potatoes. When they have eaten most of them I put more slices of potatoes. After quite a few months when the level of bran drops down I put more bran in another aquarium & pour the bran with the mealworms on top. That's it. They are the easiest bug to populate I have ever had. Oh I forgot, I keep them in my reptile room at about 88 degrees.

Thanks buddy :)

To make sure there ate no bugs in bran put in freezer a couple days. Or bake in 250 degree oven for about 45 min.
